GCF 


GRASSROOTS CRICKET FUND

Australia's Professional Cricketers, the Australian Cricketers' Association and Cricket Australia are working in partnership to deliver the Grassroots Cricket Fund (GCF); a program to strengthen grassroots cricket in this country for generations to come.

The GCF provides opportunity for clubs and indoor centres to access funding that can be utilised for purchasing cricket equipment, building capability amongst volunteers and assisting with providing fantastic experiences for their members. The fund is also helping cricket play a role in maintaining the health and well being of local communities during the global pandemic.

The GCF is making available a total of $2.5 million to Cricket Clubs and Indoor Cricket Centres this season to deliver great cricket experiences and support to their local communities.


Funding Criteria:

We know the many roles Premier Clubs play, notably supporting their local community. The GCF is offering to help Premier Clubs support their local community clubs through player development, coaching development and club operations.

Premier Clubs have an important role to play in fostering a love of the game at a community level and making visible the opportunities to our next generation of cricketers.

Clubs are required use the funding to continue to grow and deepen their connections with local community clubs and to further develop the offerings for the Community. This could include: actively supporting and developing community club coaches, skill based sessions with aspiring junior community players, leadership development programs with aspiring junior community players.

This season there will be two rounds of funding, the first round opening on 25 October 2021 and the second on 13 February 2022. All clubs are only eligible to apply in one of these funding rounds.  Please see the funding criteria below for further details and note that in round 2 the eligibility period extends from season 2020/21 to also include the first part of 2021/22 up until the 31/12/21.

FUNDING CRITERIA

Round 1 – October 2021

To receive funding, Premier Clubs will be asked to document the way in which they provided support to local community clubs in season 2020-21.

Round 2 - February 2022

To receive funding, Premier Clubs will be asked to document the way in which they provided support to local community clubs in season 2020-21 and/or up to 31/12/2021 of season 2021/22.


FUNDING AVAILABLE

As a Premier Club you can demonstrate involvement by connecting to community clubs in the areas of player development, coach development and other areas of club operations you will be eligible for $2,500.

All clubs will require a new account to complete this submission, unless the club has applied for the Australian Cricket Infrastructure Fund in any season after 19/20.

a. Delivered or participated in a Woolworths Cricket Blast program (activated either a Junior or Master Blaster program);

b. Had a total of 10 or more girls registered in or across Woolworths Cricket Blast AND/OR Junior Cricket; OR

Fielded at least one junior girls team in an affiliated girls competition.


Indoor Centers:

To be eligible for funding, an Indoor Cricket Centre must have been involved in at least ONE of the following initiatives in either or both of the 2019 - 20 or 2020-21 seasons:

a. Delivered or participated in a Woolworths Cricket Blast program (activated either a Junior or Master Blaster program);

b. Had a total of 10 or more girls registered in or across Woolworths Cricket Blast AND/OR Junior Cricket; OR

Round 2 - February 2022

Funding Criteria

Community Cricket Clubs:

To receive funding, as a Community Club you must have been involved in at least ONE of the above initiatives in season 2020/21 and/or season 2021/22 up to 31/12/21.

Indoor Centres:

To be eligible for funding, an Indoor Cricket Centre must have been involved in at least ONE of the  above initiatives in either or both of the 2019 - 20 or 2020-21 seasons and up to 31/12/2021 of season 2021/22.


Please Note:

All clubs and centres, including those that have applied for funding via the Grassroots Cricket Fund in previous years will require a new account to complete this submission, unless the club has applied for the Australian Cricket Infrastructure Fund in any season after 19/20.
